Eastern North American native perennial with golden-yellow daisy flowers around a prominent dark chocolate central cone. Cultivar ‘Goldsturm’ is the most widely planted perennial Rudbeckia in temperate gardens.

Growing notes
- Plant in sunny mixed borders and prairie plantings — flowers reliably from July through October
- Outstanding bee and butterfly forage and seed-eating songbird food if seed heads are left standing through winter
- Distinct from Rudbeckia hirta (already in the database from batch 6) — R. fulgida is reliably perennial and ‘Goldsturm’ in particular is one of the most universally planted perennials in temperate horticulture
- Long lived and easy — divide every 4–5 years to maintain vigour
