Growing notes
- Vigorous leafy green; very heat-, salt- and drought-tolerant
- Blanch the leaves and discard the water before eating — they contain oxalates and should not be eaten raw in quantity
- Frost cuts back top growth but it self-seeds readily and can become weedy if left unchecked
