About Bakupari
Bakupari is a Brazilian member of Garcinia, the same tropical genus as the mangosteens, and like its relatives it produces fruit with a thin brittle rind around segmented white pulp clinging tightly to the seed. It is grown far more in home gardens and small orchards across Brazil than commercially, in part because the fruit does not travel or store well. The genus as a whole is slow-growing and slow to fruit from seed, and most species are strictly tropical or subtropical, with no tolerance of frost.
