As a tender annual, Coriander (Cilantro) doesn't overwinter — the zone range shows where the growing season supports it. See the RHS rating for its actual cold tolerance.
Growing notes
- Excellent forage for hoverflies, lacewings and parasitic wasps when allowed to flower
- Bolts quickly to seed in warm weather — let some plants flower for the beneficial insects rather than harvesting all leaves
- Leaves (cilantro) and seeds (coriander) are both culinary and have very different flavours
- Sow successively for continuous leaf supply
