Growing notes
- Larval host for the comma butterfly and a secondary host for the red admiral
- Female cones are the brewing hop — male and female plants are separate, plant females for cones
- Sedative and bitter herb — pillows traditionally stuffed with hops as a sleep aid
- Can grow 6 m in a single season — needs strong vertical support
