Growing notes
- Plant against walls and on pergolas in mild climates — fragrance carries on warm afternoons and evenings, peaks in early summer
- Evergreen — provides year-round wall structure unlike true Jasminum which is deciduous in cool climates
- Distinct from the true jasmines (Jasminum spp.) — Trachelospermum is in the Apocynaceae and exudes milky sap from cut stems
- Tougher and more drought-tolerant than true jasmines once established
